Vinyl Color-coding and Instrument Identification Tape

Our surgical grade instrument identification tapes are US made from 3M's premium #471 vinyl tape.  They are 1/4" wide x 200" long on 1-inch diameter plastic cores.  It is smooth and flexible and conforms easily to curved surfaces, and they have a synthetic rubber adhesive that is clean removing (see specifiation sheet).  These vinyl identification tapes can be used for color-coding of surgical instruments, climbing gear, tools, utensils, cables & wires.  Wind on, pinch off - they stay put.  They are autoclavable, leaving no residue when removed.  They have been tested on surgical instruments for sterilization efficacy by both ethylene oxide and steam methods, resulting in 100 percent sterilization (see efficacy statement).

Instructions pertaining to surgical instruments are that, prior to application, the instruments be clean and sterile.  Once the tapes are applied the adhesive should be allowed to cure for 24 hours, then the instruments should be sterilized again before being put to use.  For more, see Best Practices for using and applying instrument identification tapes.  Regarding latex; 3M 471 vinyl is manufactured with a synthtic rubber adhesive that does not contain natural rubber latex.  They are also REACH and RoHS compliant (see 3M Regulatory Data Sheets and type #471 into the search field).  NOTE: 3M discontinued purple and brown, but we have sourced a non-3M replacements.
